Ways to Help and Volunteer
The fires in our community have reminded us how quickly life can be disrupted—and how much we need one another in moments like this. As a church, we want to respond not only with prayer, but with practical love, caring for our neighbors in the ways we can.
Below, you’ll find ways to give, donate supplies, serve, and support those affected by the fires. We’ll continue updating this page as needs arise and new opportunities become available.
Please continue praying for those who have lost homes or possessions, those who have been displaced, the firefighters and first responders serving our community, and everyone working to help our neighbors recover.
1. Spokane Complex Fire Relief – Donation Sorting Event
Partners INW is a local nonprofit providing essential resources to individuals and families throughout our community, including food, clothing, diapers, hygiene products, and other basic necessities. When the Spokane Complex Fires impacted our community, the response was incredible. Individuals, businesses, churches, schools, and organizations stepped up with an overwhelming amount of donated resources to help our neighbors affected by the fires.
Partners INW became a major collection and distribution point for those donations, and while the immediate crisis has slowed, the work behind the scenes is not finished!

Volunteers will help sort, organize, and prepare the remaining fire relief donations so these resources can continue moving where they are needed most. Get your small group together or come individually! Come ready to work, have some fun, and help finish what this amazing community started!

2. Serve & Donate Through the Southside Food Pantry
Our food pantry has been listed as a resource for people impacted by the fires, which means people in our community may be coming to Southside for help.

3. Serve with Samaritan’s Purse: Spokane, WA. Wildfire Response
Opportunities are now available to serve homeowners affected by the three recent wildfires in the Spokane area. We have the opportunity to serve alongside Samaritan’s Purse as they assist families throughout Spokane County whose homes sustained significant damage, providing practical help and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ during this difficult time. 4. Donate or Volunteer at the Spokane Region Long Term Recovery Group
The Spokane Region Long Term Recovery Group (SRLTRG) helps coordinate recovery services and resources for individuals, families, businesses, and communities affected by disasters in Spokane County. Formed after the 2023 Gray and Oregon Road wildfires, SRLTRG provides disaster case management and helps connect those impacted with the resources they need for both immediate needs and long-term recovery. SRLTRG also partners with churches and other community organizations to support their efforts to serve those affected by disaster. There are great opportunities to get help or get involved down below.
5. Give to Families in Other Local Churches
Several local churches that Southside cooperates with through the Inland Northwest Cooperative have families who have been impacted by the fires, including some who have lost their homes.
If you would like to help, you can give to Southside’s Fire Relief Fund. These funds will be used to directly support our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in need.
